| Multiple ATV Accidents Reported |
| Posted By Personal Injury Editor |

Despite the increased media regarding ATV accidents, people are still being injured or killed while riding the recreational vehicles. The latest tragedy involved a 16-year-old boy that was riding an ATV with a 14-year-old male friend. The two were out in North Carolina on Thanksgiving when the vehicle overturned, pinning both boys and killing the operator.
Just a few states over, an 8-year-old child riding with an adult was seriously injured in a similar ATV accident. She was transported by helicopter to a nearby hospital with several fractures and a partially collapsed lung. When last reported the little girl was on a ventilator and fighting just to breathe normally.

| Three Officers in Hospital for Serious Auto Accident Injuries |
| Posted By Personal Injury Editor |
 |
Three police officers have been hospitalized after crashing their patrol car into a concrete pole while attempting to respond to a burglary call. The police officers apparently received a call early on a Tuesday morning that they were requested for back up at the scene of a burglary. It is currently unclear what cause the officers to lose control of their car and hit the light pole in their rush to get to the scene.
In a strange turn of events, the suspected burglars also crashed their getaway truck while attempting to flee the scene. The suspected burglars' truck rammed into a house about a mile from where the police officers crashed their patrol car. The alleged burglars tried to flee the scene, and two were caught. One man currently remains at large.
Neither the identities of the burglars or the officers has been released to the media. Each officer sustained serious injuries in the crash and all are currently being treated at a hospital. An investigation will likely occur to determine the cause of the patrol car crash.
Have you suffered serious injuries due to someone else's actions? If so, now is the time to discuss your options with a

| Woman Suing for Slip on Liquids in Grocery Store |
| Posted By Personal Injury Editor |
 |
After falling in a liquid substance in a grocery store, a woman is now suing the store for her subsequent injuries.
According to Marsha Raglin, the victim, she was grocery shopping at Supervalu and Shop N'Save when she slipped and fell in a puddle of something wet. As a result, she suffered permanent injuries to her right shoulder, which has since required two surgeries. She still suffers from constant, nagging pain, as well as the mental anguish of having to deal with her injuries. She is now suing for endured disability, inability to perform usual duties, lost wages, loss of normal life, sustained disfigurement and medical costs.
Raglin names the store's manager, Linda Dublo, as the primary person responsible for her accident. By failing to routinely inspect the Supervalu store and provide a safe environment for customers, Dublo is to be held accountable for Raglin's injuries. The lawsuit lists three counts against Dublo and Supervalu, asking for a total of $150,000 plus court and legal fees.
If you have recently been injured in a slip and fall accident and you sustained serious injuries, call a

| California Couple Receives $16.5 Million Award for Medical Malpractice Case |
| Posted By Personal Injury Editor |
 |
Recently, a Riverside Superior Court jury decided to award a California couple $16.5 million for their medical malpractice claim. It took the jury eight hours of deliberation to reach a final verdict.
The victim of the medical malpractice claim, Trent Hughes, and his wife filed their lawsuit against a Palm Springs neurosurgeon by the name of Christopher Pham. In their lawsuit, the couple asserted that Pham was negligent while treating Trent Hughes in November 2003.
Prior to receiving treatment from Pham, Hughes was off-roading and was involved in a serious crash after hitting a bump in the terrain. He was airlifted to the Desert Regional Medical Center where Pham was the attending physician on call. After being evaluated, it was discovered that Hughes had a fractured spine, which can be a life-threatening medical condition. Even though he had been diagnosed with such a serious condition, Hughes was not operated on until two days after he suffered his injury.
Later, Hughes learned that he was paraplegic. This prompted Hughes and his wife to file a medical malpractice claim to obtain compensation for his medical bills, pain and suffering and also future lost income.
Two years ago, the Hughes settled their claim against the Desert Regional Medical Center for an undisclosed amount. This week, the jury presiding over the Hughes’ claim against Pham awarded the couple $16.5 million after agreeing that the doctor’s negligence and delayed treatment left Trent Hughes paraplegic. If you have been a victim of medical malpractice in the state of California, a California medical malpractice lawyer can provide you with advice and legal representation! |

In Medford, Oregon, a man recently filed a personal injury lawsuit against a logging company and also the U.S. Forest Service. According to the man, Bert Fernandez, both defendants failed to cut down a tree that fell, causing him serious injuries.
Fernandez filed his lawsuit on Monday in the U.S. District Court. In his civil action, he says that he was driving on February 8, 2008 through the Rogue National Forest. While driving, a 32 foot tree fell on top of his truck, which caused him to sustain major injuries.
The claim states that the tree was supposed to be cut down by the logging company because it had been marked by the U.S. Forest Service for removal. However, due to the fact that the tree was not removed by the logging company, Fernandez was involved in a truck accident.
Fernandez is currently seeking $900,000 in damages for his medical bills, lost wages and pain and suffering. The lawsuit paperwork lists Dodenhoff Logging Co. and the U.S. Government as defendants.
Being involved in a truck accident is always devastating. However, matters become more complicated when you think the Government or State is at fault. If you have been involved in a truck accident and you believe a municipal is liable for your injuries, you should contact a skilled personal injury lawyer for help! |
