Young Man Takes Best Friend's Life during DUI Accident
|
A teenage boy may spend years behind bars for not only causing a DUI accident but killing his friend in the process. The young boy was found to be intoxicated on alcohol and marijuana when police arrived at the fatal car accident last week. According to the police report, the responding officers immediately smelled alcohol and marijuana from inside the vehicle. The victim, a 16-year-old girl, was killed instantly in the crash. At this time, police are trying to determine who provided the alcohol to the minor. Additional charges are likely to be placed once police have made the identification.
The young boy was charged with reckless driving, provisional DWI, possession of marijuana, speeding, driving while impaired and felony death by motor vehicle. The vehicle was reportedly traveling at a speed of 75 mph in a 30 mph zone when it crashed into a tree. The two teens were at a party with fellow classmates before the accident occurred. If you or someone you love was hurt during an auto accident, take the time to consult a
personal injury attorney who can help you take appropriate legal measures.
