In Naples, news sources confirmed that a 69-year-old man lost his foot during a boat accident on Saturday while he was at Vanderbilt Beach.

According to reports, the man was swimming just before noon when a boat suddenly drove into the swim zone much faster than is allowed by law. The boat managed to sever the victim's leg right above his ankle.

Following the accident, police identified the victim as Rosario Pucciarelli.  His friends told police that the 69-year-old swims at the beach daily and witnesses confirmed that the boat came too fast and too close which led to it hitting Pucciarelli.

One witness said, "I saw and heard a gentleman in the water. He was screaming. There was a lot of red in the water."

Florida Fish and Wildlife officials said that they had managed to recover the victim's foot, but it was too late to for it to be reattached. They later found the operator of the boat, but he was not charged with any criminal offenses.

Tragedy struck in Valley View, Ohio when a semi truck went over the side of Valley View Bridge last Tuesday.

According to Valley View Police Chief Glenn Dugas, it appeared as through the truck driver was trying to slow down for traffic and caused the trailer to jackknife behind the cab. The trailer then "came around and basically sheared the cab off of the frame sending it over the wall," Dugas added. So far the Cuyahoga County Coroner's Office has confirmed that there is one death, that of 52-year-old Larry Cunningham.

His cousin, Tony Gray, spoke with News Channel 5 to say that Dugas had worked for Gray Container for 32 years and was an excellent driver. Witnesses to the truck accident have not been able to provide a clear picture of the possible causes, only that when they went to look for the driver they realized that the cab was missing.

The bridge, which opened in 1978, is 200 feet high at its tallest point.

In Lauderdale County, news sources have reported that a man from the city of Lexington was killed on Friday in a collision that involved a motorcycle and a car.

Officers investigating the motorcycle accident say that the crash took place at approximately 12:00 PM.

During the collision, 25-year-old Brandon Chase Springer died after his Suzuki motorcycle crossed the center line of the street and crashed with a motor vehicle.

The driver inside of the car did not suffer any injuries during the collision.

At this time, state troopers say that they are still investigating to determine the cause of the crash.

Another school bus accident is in the news this week, this time in Clayton County. The crash, which involved a school bus from MFL MarMac school district, was likely the result of bad weather due to heavy fog on that day.

According to MFL MarMac superintendent Dr. Dale Crozier none of the students involved were seriously hurt. At the time of the crash there were 23 students on board, all of whom were taken to local hospitals. The driver was also brought a hospital to be checked out.

The accident is still under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol who believes a patchy fog is to blame. Superintendent Crozier added that "We're very lucky. We're just happy that everyone is going to be safe."

Students from Monona, Luana, Marquette, McGregor and Farmersburg were riding on the bus.

The lawsuit was filed on Feb. 15 against Cheddar's Casual Cafe in the Harris County District Court. Tragedy struck in New Orleans when a young man lost his life in a motorcycle accident. The New Orleans Police Department's Fatality Section is still investigating the single-vehicle crash that killed 27-year-old Lionel Tillman.

From what the investigators can determine of the crash, they believe that Tillman was heading westbound on Interstate-10 when he lost control of his 2003 Honda motorcycle. As a result he hit a light pole just outside of the Franklin exit, ejecting him from the motorcycle.  Although emergency personnel rushed to the scene Tillman was soon pronounced dead.

Investigators are still looking into the details of this fatal crash and have yet to release an official statement on the cause of Tillman's death.

Palm Beach County Marine Unit deputies were dispatched to the scene of a hit and run boating accident that left a young girl suffering serious injuries.

The 14-year-old girl was struck by a boat propeller just offshore of the Juno Pier around 2:30 p.m. Police gathered eyewitnesses and victim accounts that later led them to the 22 foot white Cobia that was responsible for the accident and had fled the scene of the crime. However, it was unoccupied at a water front restaurant in Jupiter.

Police were soon able to locate the two people believed to have been in the boat when the accident happened. Their boat is currently being held at a PBSO impound until further notice.

The victim was brought to St. Mary's Medical Center by helicopter where doctors have declared her to be in critical but stable condition.

A car accident in Colorado took the lives of two teenagers when they lost control of their vehicle.

Haley Hayjek, 18, was driving a Nissan when she lost control of the car, causing it to spin into the Chevrolet Equinox driven by 75-year-old Robert Gall. Hayjek had been traveling north on Highway 93 when she struck the Equinox traveling southbound.

According to investigators the young girl was pronounced dead on the scene while her passenger, Brooke Riemer, was also killed as a result of the car accident. Both girls were freshmen at the University of Colorado.

There was a third passenger in the vehicle, 19-year-old Alexandra Cunavelis who escaped with serious injuries. She is being treated at St. Anthony Hospital but there is no further word on her condition at this time. Authorities have spoken with the surviving passenger to determine cause in this accident, believing speed and unsafe driving conditions to be at fault.

Dog bites injure thousands of people every year in the United States, including the young boy who learned that teasing a chained-up dog is not a good idea. The little boy had been visiting his grandmother in Stone Mountain when he tried teasing a dog through the fence.

The grandmother, who owns the dog, was cited for lacking proof of rabies vaccination for the canine. It is currently being held in quarantine. At this time it is unsure whether the dog will be put down at the quarantine center or released.

The Associated Press recently reported that police from the city of New Orleans are investigating a motorcycle accident that left a 27-year-old male dead.

According to local police officers, the motorcycle accident took place on Sunday at approximately 11:00 PM. Police say that the collision occurred on Interstate 10 just near the Franklin Ave. exit.

Officers say that the motorcycle rider, Lionel Tillman, was traveling westbound when he suddenly lost control of his motorcycle and ran into a light pole.  Investigators working on the case pronounced Tillman dead at the scene of the accident.

The 81-year-old woman who was fatally struck in a car accident has now been positively identified as Pearl L. Berleen.

The King County Sheriff's Office determined that Berleen was driving north on Ambaum Cutoff South when a Dodge Dakota pickup struck her 1994 Pontiac Bonneville. Although they haven't confirmed it yet, police believe that the other driver, a 61-year-old woman from Des Moines, had run a red light before heading east on Southwest 160th Street.

Once Berleen was struck her vehicle then veered off and involved a third car. That driver was taken to Highline Hospital but only with minor injuries.  Berleen was taken to Harborview Medical center in Seattle where she later succumbed to her injuries. The driver of the pickup truck was also admitted there with serious injuries.

At this time police are not making any additional comments on the accident, only saying that the investigation is ongoing. There is no word yet as to whether the driver of the pickup truck will be facing charges.
