A 46-year-old man died as the result of a boat accident near the back bay of Brigantine near Atlantic City. According to reports, the man went overboard at the time.

The U.S. Coast Guard did respond to the matter and spotted the man in the water. As they picked him up, he was noticed to be dead at the scene of the accident.

  Husband Kills Wife while Backing up Car

In North Carolina, a 92-year-old woman died on Wednesday after her husband accidentally backed over her with his vehicle.  Police say that Josephine Howey Calhoun was pronounced dead at the scene just after 12:17 PM.  She was found in her driveway in Wilmington.

The North Carolina Highway Patrol said the death occurred after her husband, 89 year old Robert Andrew Calhoun, drove a 2004 Buick into their garage.  Josephine was riding as a passenger and exited the car.  Unhappy with the way he parked, he backed up to re=park and ran over Josephine.  He told police he did not know she went behind the car.

When police arrived at the residence, Josephine was still trapped underneath the vehicle.

  Two Die in Car Accident in Kent

In Kent, police officers say that two people died on Tuesday night after a serious rollover car accident.  The first report of the individuals' deaths was released by Pat Lowery, a sergeant with the Kent Police Department.

Lowery said that the accident occurred when a Kia sedan that was traveling northbound turn left into the path of a vehicle traveling southbound.  The Kia then veered off the road and hit a third vehicle that was traveling eastbound.  The two people inside of the sedan were killed.  Police say that the passengers and drivers and the other vehicles did not suffer any injuries.

The auto accident occurred at 8:46 PM near the intersection of 108th Ave SE and SE 208th Street.

  Officer Dies in Jail Crash

At the Pinellas County Jail, an auto accident that led to the death of an employee is currently under investigation.  Police say that the accident occurred in a secure area of the jail - an area which the public cannot access.

The Sheriff's office reports that a 44 year old corrections officer who by the name of Sgt. Richard Keyser was off duty at the time drove through a fence and into a nearby retention pond.  Witnesses told authorities that Keyser was in his personal car when it suddenly accelerated and left the roadway.

From the jail's SkyFox, tire tracks heading toward the pond from the metal fence are clearly visible.  Divers were called to the jail to recover Keyser's body and vehicle.

At this time, the Major Accident Team is looking into the details surrounding the crash, specifically why Keyser was in the area when the accident occurred.

  Motorcyclist Killed after being Struck by SUV

  Three Involved in SUB Rollover

On Interstate 75, it is reported that an SUV driver lost control of his vehicle on Saturday evening. After losing control, his SUV rolled over onto its roof.

  Toddler Dies during Swimming Pool Accident

This week in Florida, it is reported that a toddler drowned while inside of his family swimming pool. The toddler died just a week before his second birthday in Renton.

According to the Gilchrist County Sheriff's Office, Maxwell Spears was reported as being unresponsive after his grandfather pulled him out of the pool on Thursday.  Police say that the accident occurred in an above ground pool.  However, they believe that Spears may have walked straight into it on a deck connecting the pool to the home.

Police say that the driver was heading southbound on I-85 in his 1999 Volkswagen Jetta when he suddenly ran off the right side of the road, tried to correct the vehicle, and ran off the left side of the street, striking several trees.

In the backseat of the car were Carlos' one-year-old son and the son's mother, 27 year old Peralta Z. Nolvia.  Both the son and the mother were transported to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

At this time, crash teams are still looking into the cause of the accident. They say that everyone in the car was wearing a seatbelt.

  Auto Accident Endangers Cross Country Team Members in California

The California Highway Patrol recent reported that in Bishop, six people were killed and twelve other suffered injuries during a multi-car accident.  The CHP said that one of the victims was a member of the California Baptist University's cross country team.

Speaking for the CHP, Dennis Cleland said that three vans were transporting members of the team and were headed northbound on U.S. Highway 395.  Suddenly, a southbound Ford SUV drifted off of the shoulder, swerved into the center median and collided with the van which burst into flames immediately.

The SUV then hit the second of the three vans and burst into flames.  The third van managed to avoid the SUV, but the vehicle behind it crashed into the burning sports utility vehicle.

The students had been returning home from a cross country event when the auto accident occurred.

  Motorcyclist Killed During Racing Event

In Virginia, a man from North Carolina died after a chain-reaction crash that took place during a motorcycle race, which was held at Virginia International Raceway.

Police say that 38 year old Robert C. Gette died as a result of the motorcycle accident, which took place last Saturday at the track.
